IDN Global, Inc. is a leading distributor of security hardware, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, doors & frames, locksmithing tools, and related security products seeking a full-time employee for an Assistant Project Manager position in our Door Division.

 

Job Description:

Based in Chamblee, GA the individual in this position plans, directs, coordinates or budgets, usually through estimator and foremen, activities concerned with the delivery and installation of doors and door hardware.

 

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Produce Project Specific Submittal package for review and approval by Contractor and Architect. To include: Frame, Door, and Hardware schedules, Shop drawings, and Manufacturer data sheets.
  • Once approved and returned, implement required changes to submittal to create an up-to-date working document.  Produce “Detail” documents including delivery, installation, and shop tickets. Place all required material on order.                                                                             
  • Work with superintendents to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with doors and door hardware installation projects.
  • Confer with supervisors and installation personnel to discuss such matters as scope of work, procedures, safety compliance, and project specific issues.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with General Contractor Personnel  and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site supervisor to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potential problem situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings as required by the project.
  • Work with our contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
  • May requisition supplies and materials to complete project.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers.
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.
  • Work with internal scheduling to assign date and time for deliveries, workers, equipment & supplies to construction sites to accommodate project schedules.

Requirements:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.
  • Required Education and Experience: High school diploma
  • Preferred Education and Experience: Carpentry experience a plus.  A college degree is also a plus.
  • Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be able to pass a criminal background
