Title/Position: Accounts Payable Associate

Type of Position: Full-Time (Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)

Location: North York, Ontario (No remote or hybrid)

Residency: Must be a Canadian Resident

 

IDN is a leading distributor of security hardware, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, doors & frames, locksmithing tools, and related security products.

 

Job Description:

The Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for co-ordinating, reviewing and processing invoices, issuing ACH and Cheque payments, responding to inquiries from internal and external parties, and reconciling vendor statements and AP Sub-Ledger.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process vendor invoices and monthly expense reports in SXe – ensuring accuracy and on timely basis.
  • Provide support for branches, such as invoice coding and payment status, disputes etc.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors and other internal contacts in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal personnel
  • Meet deadlines and obtain proper invoice approvals
  • Proficient ongoing contact with all suppliers and branches as required
  • Reconcile Vendor statements and address all past-due items
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Month/year end closes

 Key Working Relationships:

The successful candidate will report to the Accounting Manager. This individual will also be working with branches and outside sales staff.

 

Requirements:

  • 1 - 2 years full cycle accounts payable experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to apply rules for various GST/HST/QST/PST taxes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a high attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Other duties as required
