Question:

A customer came in with a mailbox key that looked like an Ilco 1069L, but it's not that blank. What blank do I use?

Answer:

The key is for new USPS mailbox locks. The new locks are National Lock part # C9100 (operates clockwise) and C9200 (operates counter clockwise). The key blanks for these locks are D4300 (for code series 1000 and 3000) and D4301 (for code series 2000 and 4000). The key blanks are a stock item at all IDN branches within the United States. The old locks will not work in the new mailboxes, and the new locks will not work in the old mailboxes. Ilco numbers 1646 for the C9200 & 1646R for the C9100.
