We have an opening with “stack†pressure—you might even say this opening with stack pressure has it in abundance. We have done everything we can to adjust the commercial door closer to properly latch and still be ADA compliant with the pressure needed to open the door. Any other thoughts on what we can do?
Answer
This is not an unusual situation, often seen in the cold weather states and provinces. The “stack†pressure is your main culprit of this situation. See if their HVAC can make some adjustments to reduce the pressure, or you could put a small louver vent in the door to relieve the pressure. Another alternative is to install a low energy door operator, and we have several different operators in stock.
